Strategic Priorities & Initiatives

Arts managers require sophisticated managerial acumen as well as the capacity to effectively engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders—including governmental authorities, donors, sponsors, media, educators, audiences, and civil society. Consequently, the study of arts management naturally encompasses business administration, public governance, education, public relations, and sociology. In response to the evolving cultural ecosystem, the Institute has designated four core development priorities:

1

Strengthening Connections with Practical Industries

Balancing rigorous theoretical foundations with practical immersion, the Institute actively invites leading industry professionals to teach on campus and vigorously fosters academia-industry collaborative initiatives. To heighten students' sensitivity toward the professional cultural marketplace and provide close-range understanding of industry trends, the Institute organizes a week-long, institute-wide off-campus field study every semester, facilitating direct dialogue with frontline experts and in-depth cultural exploration.

2

Cultivating Talent for Sustainable Arts Management & Entrepreneurship

Centering on the core managerial knowledge required by the cultural and creative industries, the Institute proposes the comprehensive ENACT strategic framework:

  • Empowerment: Empowering micro-creative artistic talent
  • Networking: Connecting and establishing cultural production networks
  • Action: Catalyzing proactive entrepreneurial action
  • Clustering: Fostering creative enterprise clustering and synergy
  • Transformation: Driving value-added upgrading for arts enterprises and leadership

Through this framework, the Institute prepares forward-thinking leaders equipped to successfully launch, operate, and sustainably grow cultural endeavors.

3

Cultivating Innovation, Interdisciplinarity, and Integration

As contemporary industry workforce demands evolve from "I-shaped" specialists to "T-shaped" generalists, and now toward "π-shaped" multifaceted talent, cross-disciplinary thinking serves as the catalyst for transformative innovation. Cultivating talent equipped with agile cross-field and cross-boundary integrative competence represents both an imperative in modern higher education and a signature priority of our Institute.

4

Arts Entrepreneurship Education as a Competitive Engine & Industry Vehicle

To effectively champion and sustain creative work, both artists and administrators must embrace an entrepreneurial mindset. From collaborative production and resource acquisition to managing stakeholders and driving post-launch market development, every phase relies upon proactive cultural drivers. Entrepreneurial capability must be thoroughly ingrained into the thinking and professional skill set of every arts manager.
