Founded in 1980, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) currently encompasses the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Management, Science, Engineering, Marine Sciences, and Si-Wan College. The student body maintains a balanced distribution between humanities and STEM disciplines. With continuous support from the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Sprout Project, NSYSU has cultivated an exceptional academic environment that harmonizes profound humanistic literacy with advanced scientific technology, providing an outstanding multidisciplinary foundation for arts management scholarship.

(II) Situated at the Industrial Hub of Southern Taiwan

Located in the Greater Kaohsiung metropolitan area adjacent to the Port of Kaohsiung, NSYSU enjoys unique geographic advantages where major industries converge. In recent years, Kaohsiung has transformed dynamically into a sustainable maritime metropolis and cultural powerhouse, fostering creative industries, world-class performing venues (such as Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts and Kaohsiung Music Center), and regional place-making. This strategic location provides our students with unprecedented access to vital resources and real-world cultural testing grounds.

(III) Robust Interdisciplinary Faculty Support

Beyond dedicated core faculty, GIAEM synergizes distinguished faculty members across the College of Liberal Arts, College of Management, College of Social Sciences, and Si-Wan College. This collaborative network delivers comprehensive coursework across arts governance, cultural policy, organizational behavior, marketing strategy, finance, and digital innovation, establishing a formidable transdisciplinary teaching consortium.

文學院將文、史、哲、藝術的研究與社會功能做實質提昇，其執行方針則是以文學、藝術為主體，並積極與國際接軌。社會科學院以學術研究、人才培育及社會影響為主要目標。管理學院則領導全國之先，數度參加(2005、2010、2015)國際商管學院認證通過Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business（簡稱AACSB International）國際學術認證單位評鑑，不僅為全台第一，更足以證明其整體之研究與教學水平已列名全球商學院前5%，晉身哈佛大學、史丹佛大學、加州柏克萊大學及加州大學等國際名校之列。全球最具權威的EMBA評比排行榜之一、英國《金融時報》（Financial Times, FT）世界百大高階經營管理碩士全球排行榜（Top 100 Executive MBA Ranking）公布2019最新結果，中山大學EMBA連續6年全國唯一入榜，榮登第88名。

藝術管理者要掌握藝文環境的脈動，需要管理的技能，有和利害關係人（包括政府、捐贈者、贊助者、媒體、教育者、觀眾、社會等）溝通的能力，所以藝術管理的學習常必須觸及事業管理、公共行政、教育、公關、社會學等學門的相關課程。現階段我國正面臨文化藝術行政及管理人才斷層之隱憂，專業的形成，與該領域知識體系之建立、實務的積累有密切的關係，藝術管理與創業研究所的設立，除了讓學生享有三個學院的各種豐富資源外，更借重各領域師資之專業，培養學生認同並肯定文化藝術的價值，翻轉社會大眾對藝術管理「專業模糊」的認知，並培育學生對相關議題的敏銳度與看待藝文事務的新視野，朝專業之路邁進。

(IV) Active Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility

NSYSU is widely recognized for its deep commitment to University Social Responsibility (USR) and regional revitalisation across Southern Taiwan. GIAEM actively spearheads community-engaged arts projects, heritage revitalization, and cultural incubation initiatives, empowering students to translate academic research into transformative social value.

國立中山大學依山傍海，坐落在擁有深刻港都歷史紋理的高雄門戶，周邊的旗津、鼓山及鹽埕是高雄發展之源，卻逐漸沒落。做為高雄地區第一學府，肩承高雄城市發展發動機的角色，本校一直積極與週邊大學合作，共同致力社區發展並協助開創在地經濟，希望能驅動一個由大學領軍的區域創新系統。因此，中山大學不僅注重學術發展，更鼓勵師生走出校園連結社區。除此之外，於107年正式成立『社會實踐與發展研究中心』，該中心以「社會開創」為核心理念，從常民生活的角度切入，跟高雄在地社區結合，瞭解物質文化的流變，探索並且開創另類的未來社會生活，具體實踐大學之社會影響力（social impact）與在地幸福，促進社會公平正義。

中山大學設有理學、工程、管理、文學、社會科學、海洋科學院以及西灣學院(原通識教育中心)，教師專長多元，更積極建立跨界合作機制。在此一基礎上，不僅結合校內各學院的教學、研究與實務能量，更連結高雄地區的一般與技職體系之大學，一起面對邊緣社區的問題與挑戰，共同激發在地的跨界與創新力量。
